Gemkom Engineering and Machinery Filial is a newly established branch of the Turkish company Gemkom. It is a leading engineering and manufacturing company that operates in a number of areas and in various ways within the steel industry.
We are participating in a project where STEGRA (H2 Green Steel) establishes a steel mill in Norra Svartbyn in Boden where steel will be produced through an almost fossil-free process using hydrogen gas. Our mission is, among other things, to install machines used in steel production and includes work in mechanics, electronics and plumbing

Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Planning Engineer to manage the planning, cost, and progress tracking processes of our projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will work closely with the project management team to ensure that project objectives are achieved on schedule and within the allocated budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and maintain project baseline schedules and routine progress tracking.
- Analyze project performance, evaluate schedule variances, and monitor cost deviations utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology.
- Execute rigorous construction cost controlling and financial reporting activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proactively identify potential delays and cost overrun risks, providing regular (weekly/monthly) comprehensive reports to senior management.
- Plan and allocate project resources (manpower, equipment, materials) and conduct productivity and efficiency analyses.
- Gather field data and subcontractor updates to integrate into the master project progress reports.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering preferred).
- Advanced proficiency and hands-on experience with Primavera P6 (Mandatory).
- Proven track record and practical experience in applying Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology in active projects (Mandatory).
- Extensive experience in construction cost controlling and reporting (Mandatory).
- Prior background working on oil & gas or similar heavy industrial projects (Mandatory).
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English (Mandatory).
- Strong analytical thinking, data analysis, and detailed reporting capabilities.
- Team-oriented, proactive approach with strong crisis management and problem-solving skills.
